Arlo

Project Overview:
Nicholas Price and Wayne Tunks collaborated on a number of music-videos and an award winning web-series, filmed in and around the Sydney suburb of Blacktown. So when Blacktown City Council announced an initiative to fund local filmmakers they leapt at the chance to make a short film.

Wayne wrote the short drama Arlo, set entirely in a suburban house.

Arlo premiered at Blacktown Shorts in 2019.

Logline:
Arlo
is about a young boy’s freedom to express himself in the face of his grandmother’s narrow-minded views on gender.

Cinematography Approach:
The visual storytelling of "Arlo" is characterized by its naturalistic and intimate style, focusing on the small but significant moments that shape Arlo's experiences. The use of soft lighting and close-up shots brings the audience closer to Arlo's inner world, capturing his emotional journey with sensitivity and depth.
